Colchester Academy is a thriving secondary school, looking for a passionate, enthusiastic and driven EAL Coordinator to cover maternity leave and to enable our students with varying abilities in the English Language move towards proficiency.  This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to help continue to raise standards across the school.

Colchester Academy is a secondary school located in the heart of Colchester, Essex, and recently graded ‘GOOD’ by OFSTED (2018). This is an incredibly exciting time in our journey, as we have just joined a local Academy Chain, South Suffolk Learning Trust (SSLT).

We are looking to appoint someone intent upon driving up standards, delivering excellent teaching and inspiring the same in others, and helping lead the school towards excellence. You will have proven experience in the teaching of language acquisition and the knowledge and understanding to support young people who are new to a culture, language and school.
