Assistant Estates Manager - South Suffolk Learning Trust

Required as soon as possible
Grade 5 Point 16 - £26,466
Permanent - 37 hours/52 weeks per annum

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and hardworking Assistant Estates Manager to join our Trust central team.
You will be accountable for supporting the Estates Manager in shaping, managing and leading the Estates management function across the Trust, with a particular focus on supporting the delivery of estates building projects, compliance and working with site teams across our five schools. We are looking for a ‘fresh’ pair of eyes to support our work and move us forward.

The key aspects of the role include:

  • support the Estates Manager on the delivery of building/refurbishment projects
  • working alongside and deputising for the Estates Manager
  • liaising with Head Teachers, School Staff and contractors
  • ensuring the schools are maintained to a high standard

We are looking for the successful candidate to have:

  • some experience of leading others and/or projects
  • experience of managing individuals and teams
  • solid communication skills, both written and verbal
  • organisational and planning skills
  • the ability use ICT based work solutions to a high level
  • ability to use own initiative and respond to changes proactively and positively

South Suffolk Learning Trust was established in 2017, to build upon the excellent work of the founding schools and their shared belief that the young people in our care should have access to excellent educational provision. Working within and beyond the Trust, the Trust aims to provide support and drive improvement in all of its schools. Currently comprising four high schools and one primary school the Trust aspires to grow, through a carefully managed approach.

The central team, based at East Bergholt High School, comprises of Finance, HR, Estates and IT. These central teams work as a unit to support schools and headteachers to deliver the best possible education. We pride ourselves on our positive, hardworking ethos and collegiate atmosphere.

The successful applicant will be expected to work across all SSLT sites.
