Head of Arts Faculty with Teacher of Music - Claydon High School

Required for September 2024

Permanent Contract

MPR - UPR

TLR 1A:  £9,272

“BE THE BEST YOU CAN BE”

“A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way and shows the way.”

(John C Maxwell)

We are looking for a creative, innovative and enthusiastic practitioner to lead our team of specialist teachers from September 2024.  We want you to share our passion for teaching and learning, someone who is keen to motivate and challenge our students and our colleagues.  This post would suit an ambitious and experienced individual looking to further develop their career.

The Arts Faculty are a forward looking department made up of Art and Design, Drama, Music and Physical Education.  The school’s motto is “Be the best you can be” and the Arts Faculty fully embrace this through a strong curriculum and extensive extra-curricular programme.  Over the years the faculty have produced some of the strongest GCSE results and are rightly proud of the progress made.  As well as excellent results the faculty offer extensive clubs, trips and enrichment opportunities which enable our young people to become active, global citizens.  We are looking for a dynamic leader who will further enhance the enrichment opportunities offered and be able to demonstrate an innovative and interactive style of teaching.

Claydon High School is a popular, oversubscribed and friendly comprehensive school on the outskirts of Ipswich; we are situated close to the A14 with easy transport links across Suffolk and into Essex.  We are a small school with 772 students on roll which means that there is a close working relationship with all the staff and students in the school.  As part of the Penrose Learning Trust we also work closely with other schools within the MAT to achieve “excellence through collaboration”.

We look forward to hearing from you.
