We are looking for a creative, innovative and enthusiastic practitioner to lead our team of Mathematics specialist teachers from September 2020. We want you to share our passion for teaching and learning, someone who is keen to motivate and challenge our students and our colleagues. This post would suit an ambitious and experienced individual looking to further develop their career.
The Mathematics Faculty are a forward looking department who are keen to try new ideas to develop strong mathematicians. The school’s motto is “Be the best you can be” and the Maths department believe in this and promote this ethos in their practice. Over the last two years we have achieved some of the strongest GCSE Mathematics results in the county and we are very proud of the progress we have made. We have a small team of experienced of staff who work well together. As well as a programme of intervention and supported study, the team offers enrichment opportunities. We would like the successful candidate to further enhance the enrichment opportunities offered by the faculty especially and to be able to demonstrate an innovative and interactive style of teaching.
Claydon High School is a popular, oversubscribed and friendly comprehensive school on the outskirts of Ipswich; we are situated close to the A14 with easy transport links across Suffolk and into Essex. We are a small school with 750 students on roll which means that there is a close working relationship with all the staff and students in the school, you will find you know the name of every student in the school. The close relationship between staff and students means the school is a very friendly and supportive environment to work in. As part of the South Suffolk Learning Trust we also work closely with other schools within the MAT to achieve “excellence through collaboration”.
